During this financial year ending 2022, we continued to put forward submissions to the Department of Justice discussion paper in view of amending the Juries Act 1957 (WA).
Our correspondence with the Department of Justice has been ongoing this financial year (United Nations communication and the Australian Government).
We put forward submissions to the WA Law Reform Commission regarding amendments to the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA). We are delighted that some of our recommendations are in the final report.
In May 2022, we participated in a discussion group with the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) regarding improvements to clients, who have disabilities and wish to play/access golf premises. The AHRC identified that many sports clubs do not have accessible premises and fail to provide reasonable adjustments for the patrons with disability. The disability discrimination unit put forward their views on current issues found in WA.
