Volunteering vacancies exist in the following areas:
Community Services (individual disability advocacy, financial counselling and tenant advocacy)
Law (including criminal, family, civil, welfare rights and disability discrimination)
Not-for-profit administration (process improvement, project management research, internal audit, governance, risk, compliance and assurance)
To be eligible to apply you must have the following:
ESSENTIAL TO THE ROLE
Demonstrated commitment to human rights and social justice
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including report and submission writing and public presentation skills
Well-developed interpersonal and negotiating skills, including the ability to liaise with people of various backgrounds within the community
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
Intermediate computer skills
DESIRABLE TO THE ROLE
Knowledge and understanding of community legal centres.
Experience working in a community-based organisation
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
Ability to travel within the state
Objective 1
Provide accessible legal and social services to target communities with particular regard to those, who are socially disadvantaged and to other groups
Objective 2
Develop resources, provide information and deliver community education programs that build the capacity of the community and industry to understand the law and social systems
Objective 3
Initiate and participate in law reform
