Law Reform and Legal Policy

Through the involvement in the various situations that clients bring into the service the caseworkers often see trends emerging in the treatment or access to services encountered by their clients. This will result in the caseworker raising this issue with other workers and agencies in the field or with peak bodies. As a result submissions or proposals can be put forward that may change policy or reform law to remedy the relevant situation. Sussex Street caseworkers play an active role in the advancement of law reform and change of legal policy.
