2. WHAT TO DO IF YOU'RE INVOLVED IN A CAR CRASH

Call an ambulance. Phone 000.

Where anyone is injured, call the police and ambulance as soon as possible. Give them details of the crash site, the nearest cross street, the number of vehicles involved, the number of people injured and if there is any need for special rescue equipment. If there is no access to a telephone, stop passing cars as safely as possible to make the call for you, or have them stop at the nearest police station.

Check for live electricity wires.

If there are live electricity wires down, notify the police. Do not touch live wires or any vehicle in contact with live wires. Leave people in their car until wires are removed by police or electricity workers.

Keep them breathing, stop them bleeding.
