Chapter 22:  Health Consumers' Rights

In almost all cases the relationship between a health practitioner and a patient or consumer is on of mutual benefit.

Health practitioners have a duty to take reasonable care for the safety and well-being of the people they deal with and treat.

Health consumers have the right to give valid consent to any proposed treatment and the right to receive competent care form health practitioners.

The following chapter explains the rights of health consumers and where to find help if such rights have been infringed.
