Are you eligible for assistance?
Sussex Street Community Law Service (SSCLS) provides assistance to individuals who live within certain geographical boundaries and meet income and asset limits.
Whether SSCLS can provide assistance in your case will depend on whether you satisfy these requirements, whether the case has merit and whether the solicitors and caseworkers have capacity to take on your case.
Geographical boundaries
The geographical boundaries differ for each service we offer. You will be asked for your residential address when you contact us to make an appointment. You may be asked to provide proof of your address prior to being given an appointment or at the first appointment.
Income and asset limits
You are eligible or assistance if:
- You have no dependent children and you earn less than $50,000 (gross) per annum;
- You have dependent children and you earn less than $70,000 (gross) per annum; and
- You have net assets of less than $410,000.
You may be asked for proof of your income and your assets prior to being given an appointment or at your first appointment.
